Biography
Hello, I’m Kes (he/they) – Autistic ADHD Counsellor & Supervisor
The majority of my therapeutic experience (since 2017) is with dual-diagnosed AuDHDers with ‘inattentive’ ADHD presentations – where burnout, overwhelm, executive dysfunction, and feeling “behind” are common in a neuronormative world. I have a late dual-diagnosis of AuDHD myself, along with neuro-affirming therapy training. I believe with the right adjustments it’s possible to have more ‘good’ days, and fewer ‘bad’ days.
Who I work with:
Late-diagnosed or self-diagnosed adults, especially queer, trans, non-binary, or questioning people exploring AuDHD or dual neurotypes.
What my clients bring – and what I can support you with:
Concerns about work and focus, RSD (rejection sensitive dysphoria), procrastination, shame loops, sensory overwhelm, forgetting things, struggling with transitions or life admin. We may also talk about anxiety, mental health, trauma (including recovery), bereavements, ethnicity, sexuality, spirituality, low mood, faith/culture, family/intergenerational issues, gender/sex/relationship diversity,
loneliness, shame, purpose, creativity, and self-worth.
My approach:
ADHD- and autism-affirming, person-centred, anti-shame. No neurotypical expectations. We work with your interest-based attention system, and explore structure and possibilities that help you to thrive. We may use creative writing, expressive arts, mindfulness, and psychoeducation to support our conversations.
My practice is informed by lived experience and practice-based research. I understand some of the gifts and challenges in safely and creatively navigating neurodivergence, gender, sexuality, faith, and identity together.
Practical stuff:
Short-term (up to 6 sessions) or longer-term therapy. Weekday mornings, afternoons, or evenings may be available.
Are you…
Wanting someone who gets AuDHD + queerness without you over-explaining?
Ready to apply self-compassion and move toward life choices that actually feel right?
